Tartan Whistle Dog Training is built on real experience and a practical approach to working with dogs.
Led by Michael Emans, a former military and police dog handler, we help everyday dog owners build better communication, develop reliable skills and get more from their dogs through clear, structured and rewarding training.
Our one-on-one approach is tailored to the individual dog and handler, using reward, motivation and clear communication to tap into each dog’s natural ability and potential.
From foundation obedience and puppy development through to scent detection, tracking, mantrailing and gundog training, we focus on developing confident, capable dogs and giving handlers the practical skills to progress with them.

3 Session Training Package
3 Session Training Package – $600

This package provides a structured approach to developing your dog’s skills across three one-on-one training sessions. Whether you’re working on everyday obedience or developing more specialised skills, each session is tailored to your dog, your goals and your level of experience.
Suitable for:
Basic obedience, including loose lead walking, recall, sit and general control
Gundog training
Scent detection
Mantrailing & tracking
Your training includes:
Session 1 – Initial Assessment & Training Session (1.5 hours) – $270
We discuss your training goals, assess your dog’s current skills and establish a clear starting point. You’ll begin practical training with guidance on what to work on between sessions.
Session 2 – 1 Hour Private Lesson – $175
We build on the skills introduced in your first session, progressing the training and developing your handling, timing and communication.
Session 3 – 1 Hour Private Lesson – $175
We continue progressing your dog’s training, focusing on reliability, consistency and helping you confidently continue the work at home.
Each session is practical and tailored to the individual dog and handler, giving you a clear training plan and the skills to continue making progress between lessons.
